Sermorelin Acetate

Product Overview

Sermorelin represents the 1–29 amino acid fragment of endogenous human GHRH. Unlike direct HGH injections that bypass the body's regulatory mechanisms, sermorelin stimulates the pituitary to produce and release GH naturally. Its effects are regulated by somatostatin negative feedback, making overdose difficult and preserving natural GH pulse patterns. Originally FDA-approved in 1997 for children with GH deficiency; now used off-label via compounding pharmacies.

Mechanism of Action

Sermorelin binds to GHRH receptors (GHRHR) on pituitary somatotroph cells, stimulating HGH synthesis and release in natural pulsatile bursts. Somatostatin feedback prevents overstimulation, and sermorelin promotes hGH gene transcription to maintain the growth hormone neuroendocrine axis — the first system to deteriorate with age.
