KPV retains the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of alpha-MSH without triggering melanogenesis or other broad hormonal effects. It is transported by the PepT1 di-/tripeptide transporter, enabling effective local action on intestinal epithelium and resident immune cells when administered orally. Mechanism of Action
KPV suppresses NF-κB activation (a master regulator of inflammation), reducing expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6.
