Product Overview
HMG contains two key reproductive hormones: Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which drives ovarian follicle growth in women and sperm production in men, and Luteinizing Hormone (LH), which triggers ovulation in women and testosterone production in men. It is primarily used to induce ovulation in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF and IUI, particularly for patients with conditions like PCOS or unexplained infertility.
Mechanism of Action
HMG mimics the natural effects of FSH and LH, normally produced by the anterior pituitary gland under GnRH regulation from the hypothalamus. FSH stimulates follicle growth and maturation, while LH is crucial for triggering ovulation. HMG also modulates the pituitary LH response to GnRH, preventing premature estrogen-mediated positive feedback of LH secretion during stimulation cycles.
